The Tudor Arms Hotel has a rich history. Legend claims Al Capone was a frequent guest, hosting parties in the ballroom and having his own private pool. But amidst its gothic appeal and fascinating history lies tales of unreserved guests who walk the halls among the living hotel patrons.
Now owned by Hilton as a DoubleTree hotel, you’re greeted with those warm, gooey, and delicious chocolate cookies they take out at the front desk. The fact they have a small oven back there is still amazing. But sweets aside, the Tudor Arms Hotel is a Cleveland icon, and one that excites paranormal investigators from all around.
History of the Tudor Arms Hotel

Built in the 1920’s, the building was a private club, designed for parties and events. By the ‘30’s, it was renovated into the hotel, holding on to the party atmosphere with a jazz room that attracted some of the top performers of that time. But by the 1960’s, the hotel lost its charm, becoming student dorms and a job training center.
If there was ever a hotel chain to revive this lost beauty, it was Hilton, coming in with major restorations that still preserved the historic character and charm of the Tudor Arms Hotel of past decades. Now serving as a DoubleTree in Cleveland, this luxury hotel has certainly stood the test of time.
Evidence of the Haunted Tudor Arms Hotel
We don’t want to ruin all the fun, but there is virtually no evidence that we’ve found to hint that the Tudor Arms Hotel is haunted. When you ask staff, they simply say they haven’t encountered anything and most of the reviews we looked at with the words, “terrifying,” and “strange,” were actually about the hotel and staff, as opposed to a haunted experience.
There was one user who posted the following photo to Reddit wondering if an orb was hovering above her couch.

What seems to be an ordinary photo of their top floor room might have a small orb hovering just above the cushion. If you look closely at the couch, you’ll see the circular light on the back cushion. Was this an orb, or just a reflection of the camera?
Other people on social media are quick to point out how haunted the hotel is, but fail to offer any evidence. Here are a few TikTok videos of the hotel using its “haunted” status as a reason to film.
So, Is The Tudor Arms Hotel Haunted?
Likely not. It seems as though its appearance has convinced people that it’s haunted. Given the above evidence we’ve found, we may go as far as to say there is no evidence, albeit anecdotal. Does this mean we’ll take a trip to spend the night at the Tudor Arms Hotel? Maybe. Do the haunted claims require a deeper look? Possibly.
Whatever the case is, if you decide to stay at the Tudor Arms Hotel, make sure you grab one of those famous DoubleTree front desk cookies. Two, if you want to satisfy the ghost in your room.
